About the role

JFD is looking to recruit a System Mechanical Technicians to work on a permanent basis from our site in Aberdeen. As a part of a technical resource team, either within the JFD premises or Away From Base (AFB) you will ensure all work undertaken conforms to design and quality standards expected. You will undertake the Installation, testing and commissioning of Dive Sat systems and associated Dive equipment onboard Dive Support Vessels as instructed by the Project Managers. Therefore, to be considered for this role it is essential that you have previous diving experience.

As a member of the JFD asset / maintenance department the System Mechanical Technician is also responsible for ensuring that all mechanical issues relating to the main fixed and portable dive system and any other supporting auxiliary life support equipment are always held in a state of readiness.

As a System Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Carry out Dive systems Planned maintenance on all assets under the NHC umbrella, including PHRF, LSPs, and ancillary supporting equipment etc.
  • Prioritize and carry out dive systems planned maintenance tasks using TM Master making sure all tasks and activities are recorded within the job record.
  • Carry out any dive systems unplanned maintenance/Breakdowns when required.
  • Raise spares requisitions for required spare parts.
  • Support hyperbaric Rescue operations and training exercises.
  • Adhere to all relevant IMCA DESIGN documents
  • Offer flexibility in any Rota and shift work required to assist with trials, tests / periodic verification trials and workshop activities.
  • Assist in maintaining and the repair of client owned equipment as required.

What do you need?

We are looking for individuals with diving experience as well as knowledge in the following areas; general instrument and small-borepipe work, welding and soldering and using test equipment. You should have a good level of knowledge regarding diving equipment, assembly of breathing equipment and breathing gas compressors. You should have basic electrical aptitude and knowledge of IMCA guidelines and standards.
