About the Role 

In this role, you will lead and manage all supply chain and procurement activities for JFD Sweden’s key international projects, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of all supplier and subcontractor work packages. As the Buyer, you will apply best practices across all projects, maintaining high standards of detail, accuracy, precision, consistency, and auditability to enhance project visibility and enable proactive management.

The postholder will require security clearance from relevant Defence authorities. 

Role Responsibilities

  • Management of all procurement activities in the delivery of sub-contract and supplier work packages, including RFQs, detailed purchase orders incorporating scope of supply and deliverables.
  • Provide operational support to the supply chain team and supporting departments including Project Managers and Engineers.
  • Consult with vendors, subcontractors and OEM’s to provide full supplier management and compliance through negotiation, provision of feedback for improved service, risk management, risk mitigation and Service Level Agreements.
  • Manage the review, development and implementation of supply strategies and purchasing methodologies to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Liaising with suppliers on outstanding orders, material related issues and late deliveries whilst ensuring all changes and variations are captured and the impact evaluated and proposing alternative/corrective solutions.
  • Work closely with and report to surrounding departments in support of business needs.
  • Current and new supplier evaluations - identify key strengths & weaknesses versus business requirements.
  • Working knowledge and competence of interpreting technical drawings and translating technical requirements.

Knowledge, Experience, Skills Required

  • Proficient in written and verbal communication in both English and Swedish.
  • Effective stakeholder management and strong negotiation skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Experienced in supply chain or procurement roles, particularly in engineering, manufacturing, or defence industries.
  • Skilled in managing complex, fast-paced cross-functional projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of strategic procurement techniques and processes.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and the full Microsoft Office suite.
  • Capable of obtaining security clearance and flexible for travel to local or overseas sites.
