The Opportunity
As a Senior Bid Lead, you will be responsible for the management of strategically important bids across the Defence and Commercial & Hyperbaric Product Lines from receipt to contract award, as well as will assist with variations/additions to existing contracts when necessary.
You will support the JFD bid activity not only in the UK, but globally in Australia, India, Singapore and the USA, and will mentor and develop other members of the team.
The role can be based in either Inchinnan or Westhill, and we offer hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 at home).
Principle Accountabilities
- Lead bids in line with the JFD Global Bids Process.
- Ensure that all bid requirements are managed, maintained and acted upon.
- Creating a successful strategy for winning a bid.
- Assessing and addressing the technical and commercial risks relating to bids.
- Bid writing and production of quality content plans for the wider business departments. Coordination of responses to ensure all clients' points are addressed.
- Ensure the bid team is working cohesively and positively towards project objectives, promoting team work and high standards of work.
- Any other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Estimating experience - Desirable.
- Experience with Government tender requirements - Beneficial.
- Demonstrated Tender/Bid Management experience.
- Experience managing/mentoring team members.
- Bid/Tender writing experience is essential.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience with CRM packages (Salesforce, Dynamics, etc)
- Relevant qualification.
- Ability to work to own initiative and to strict deadlines.
- Excellent IT skills, using MS Office packages, particularly Excel.
- Experience and ability to analyse risks.
