The Opportunity
We have a brand new opportunity for a Supplier Quality Lead to join the JFD team and lead the Supply Chain supplier/sub-contractor activities in the company, ensuring robust processes and adherence to company policies and procedures. Reporting into the Head of Supply Chain, you will be responsible for building strategic supplier relationships as well as assisting the sourcing and delivery of services and goods in the most effective manner, considering contract requirements, budgets and strategic initiatives.
We are looking for previous experience in a similar role, proactive and strategic attitude, and a natural problem-solver. Audit experience will also be beneficial.
The role can be based in either Inchinnan or Westhill, and we offer hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 at home).
Principle Accountabilities
- Work closely with the Supply Chain Managers, Project Managers and Operations Managers to ensure their needs translate to a delivered and effective supply chain solution.
- Build effective relationships with key external suppliers/sub-contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Implement and maintain supplier performance monitoring.
- Ensure that any risks are identified and mitigation actions are implemented.
- Manage the onboarding of new suppliers and maintain the topicality of the Approved Vendor List.
- In conjunction with the Accounts Payable team, aid in the management of the Purchase to Pay process for JFD.
- Provide management reporting for the Supply Chain function as required.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Experience of working within a procurement or supply chain role.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Excel and full Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to adhere to deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical, numerically astute with strong proven problem-solving abilities.
- Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
- Commercially and financially astute.
- Self-motivated, able to work under own initiative, thrive in a challenging environment.
- Experience in dealing with complex fast-paced cross-functional projects in an engineering, manufacturing, defence or related industry.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of strategic procurement techniques and processes.
- Ability to travel to various JFD locations and supplier sites, potentially on short notice.
- Would hold or be able to obtain SC level clearance.
Desirable
- Experience in using ERP systems.
- Experienced in continuous improvement / lean practices.
- CIPS Level 3 or relevant Supply Chain/Procurement experience.
