The Role
We are looking for a Bid Manager to join the Commercial Team to lead and manage the end-to-end bid process for a period of 12 Months, covering a Maternity Leave.
As the Bid Manager, you will be involved in developing bid strategies and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful closure of opportunities. This will be a global role providing support across all James Fisher Fendercare regions.
You will be joining a business with a critical role to play in energy security and maritime trade, and will have the opportunity to gain exposure to some exciting contracts down the line.
Our head office is located in Seething, Norwich, and we offer hybrid working arrangements.
Role Accountabilities
- Lead and coordinate the entire bid management process, including reviewing bid invitations, conducting bid/no-bid analysis and establishing timelines.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as sales, operations and subject matter experts, to gather information and develop bid strategies.
- Develop compelling and persuasive bid content, including executive summaries, value propositions, pricing models and technical responses.
- Manage all aspects of the tendering process to obtain necessary sign offs at each relevant stage, including the production of business rational for any deviation from JFF contracting principles.
- Review and respond to commercial clarification requests throughout the bid process, working closely with the legal department to negotiate contracts which protect the interests of JFF.
- Participate in customer negotiations to secure favourable terms and conditions whilst focusing on profitability.
- Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to ensure bid proposals meet all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Continuously refine and improve bid processes, templates and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry trends, marking insights and emerging best practices in bid management.
Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience in a Bid Management and/or Commercial function.
- Exposure to contract negotiation in a services environment.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at various levels.
- Superb communication and organisational skills.
- Strong Project Management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and manage multiple bids simultaneously.
