The Role

This exciting role is at the forefront of driving excellence in global engineering and innovation. As the leader of strategic and operational initiatives, you will be responsible for developing and implementing best practices, driving continuous improvement, and standardizing engineering processes to deliver innovative solutions that enhance efficiency, quality, and performance. You will play a pivotal role in aligning engineering activities with the company's strategic goals, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, and creating value for the organization. Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy a comprehensive business excellence strategy to deliver consistency across the group engineering and innovation function.
  • Craft, own and implement the Engineering Governance Framework comprising the full complement of engineering processes required to drive consistency, taking cognisance of divisional requirements, to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Drive continued professional development of the engineering and innovation function by actively supporting and encouraging professional registration and the identification of technical development needs aligned to operational needs
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimise processes, reduce costs and improve quality and efficiency.
  • Foster and champion a culture of innovation, excellence and collaboration by promoting best practices, tools, and methodologies whilst promoting knowledge-sharing and identifying synergies across the function.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance engineering and innovation capabilities.
  • Champion collaboration across the global function, creating an environment where knowledge sharing and unlocking synergy is the default mindset, bringing the technical community together through delivering quarterly JFS Technical Networks
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment and support for business excellence goals.
  • Apply expertise to map, monitor and evolve the key engineering competence sets required at the enterprise level to assure organisational capability current and future needs can be met.
  • Ensuring all engineering teams across divisions and product lines have implemented fit-for-purpose competence frameworks and global best practice process setsto govern all activities driving synergies and efficiencies globally
  • Internal sponsor of all engineering related graduate and intern schemes across the group.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or equivalent field - Master's degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience within a similar engineering delivery management position
  • Extensive leadership and management experience to director level in Engineering, Business Excellence director or quality director level
  • Proven track record of leading successful business excellence and continuous improvement programs
  • International projects and resource management experience
  • Experience gained within a fast-paced changing and innovative environment
  • Strategic thinker capable of setting big picture vision
  • Skilled in engaging and conveying complex ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences such as senior executives, engineers, and cross-functional teams to drive business excellence
  • Exceptional leadership ability in driving cultural change, transformation and continuous improvement programs.
  • Strong operational outlook and an entrepreneurial approach to business
  • A strong focus on organisational design, in particular engineering/technical/R&D processes and systems, with a clear commitment to improve customer service and minimise costs
