About the role:
The HSSEQ Advisor will provide resources and information to employees and management as needed and also assist in the provision of a comprehensive health and safety service at site level in order to meet company and statutory requirements.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Acting as first point of contact in providing guidance and support in relation to compliance with our HSSEQ management systems and with our legislative obligations, JFD HSE system, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
- Supporting on-site/operation activities to provide HSE oversight. Working closely with project teams to ensure HSSEQ standards are maintained whilst ensuring James Fisher Group’s Life Saving Rules are fully complied with.
- Assisting in the periodic review of our HSSEQ management systems through internal auditing and document evaluation.
- Conducting regular site inspections to ensure all HSE requirements are maintained to legal requirements. i.e. PUWER, LOLER, Fire Regulations Scotland.
- Positively challenging the effectiveness and suitability of our risk controls and their implementation across the business.
- Provide regular inputs on HSSEQ performance, lessons learnt and sharing of best practice.
- Working within the team to produce HSE safety communications inclusive of safety bulletins, HSE requirements, lessons learnt, to improve and maintain the highest level of safety culture.
- To help improve the health and safety culture throughout the business and assist the business to aspire to health and safety excellence.
Who are we looking for?
You will need strong written and verbal communication skills, and also be highly organised, focused and able to deliver in a high-pressure environment.
Excellent attention to detail.
Be a strong team player with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
Have great personal communication skills and the ability to interact and professionally present at all levels of the organisation, including customers.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Able to demonstrate experience in a similar role.
- NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Safe System of Work principles
- Experience of Accident / Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis
- Understanding of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 requirements.
- Internal & External Auditor experience.
- Competent in the use or Microsoft Office applications
- Undertake and achieve Baseline Personal Security Standard- BPSS
Ideally, you will also have a First Aid qualification.
