The Role
We have a brand new opportunity for a Purchaser to join the ScanTech AS team and manage the sourcing and acquisition of goods and services to meet the organisation’s needs. The role will be responsible for building strong relationships with suppliers, managing the procurement processes, and contributing to the company’s overall success. You will ensure that best practice is followed at all times across all activities and projects.
Your role will be to manage the procurement activities for the workshop relating to various projects, ensuring alignment with specific requirements, budgets, timescales, whilst promoting strong supplier relationships.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage procurement processes, including creating and sending purchase orders to suppliers.
- Follow up on order confirmations from suppliers to ensure accuracy and up-to-date information.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and materials according to production schedules and project requirements.
- Work closely with the warehouse and logistics team to coordinate the receipt and tracking of goods.
- Monitor and update supplier information in the ERP system to maintain accurate records.
- Perform regular quality checks to ensure received goods meet specifications and standards.
- Identify and resolve issues related to delayed deliveries, shortages, or quality deviations.
- Support supplier relationships through daily communication and problem-solving to ensure optimal service.
- Contribute to cost savings by obtaining quotes and comparing prices for operational purchases.
- Update and maintain inventory levels to support effective stock management.
- Participate in internal meetings to ensure alignment between procurement and project teams.
- Other relevant tasks assigned by Line Manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a supply chain or procurement role
- Experience in dealing with fast-paced cross-functional projects in engineering and manufacturing.
- Strong commercial, sourcing & contract negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of strategic procurement techniques and processes.
- Experience in using ERP systems.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Excel and full Microsoft Office suite.
