The Role

This role is focused on ensuring that Planning and Scheduling best practices are consistently applied across all strategically important international projects. As a Production Planner, you will play a key part in enhancing project visibility and enabling proactive management by maintaining a high level of detail, accuracy, precision, consistency, and auditability across all products, services, and project activities. Reporting to the Service and Production Planning Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of ERP system demand related to production and services. You will ensure that relevant processes are followed and that risks and opportunities are effectively identified and managed. The role may involve travel to other UK-based locations and global sites, including Sweden.

Due to the nature of the projects, candidates must have or be able to obtain UK Security Clearance.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Create, manage and maintain all production orders within the ERP system for their respective projects/products/services ensuring global work order standards are met
  • In conjunction with Project Team and supporting departments, develop WBS, CBS, OBS within ERP system
  • Ensure all Changes and Variations are captured in the work orders and the impact evaluated, proposing alternative/corrective solutions where required
  • Drive production to planned schedules, supporting operational efficiency and maximising delivery outputs
  • Develop, maintain and manage Projects specific planning, scheduling, reporting processes and procedures, ensuring their application
  • Prepare regular internal and external project reports for management
  • Provide manpower analysis and trends for forecasting, assessing resources availability
  • Prepare short and long-term resource allocation plans based on input from all key stakeholders and team members
  • Measure, control and report project progress highlighting any issues or areas of concern (Safety/Quality/Delivery/Cost)
  • Participate in the risk evaluation process and perform schedule risk analysis
  • Develop planning outputs and reports
  • Preparation of close-out reports and create/maintain historical database, improving quality of feedback to tender/project
  • Continuous improvement, to identify waste within products and processes supporting business efficiency
  • Other relevant duties/tasks assigned by the line manager

    Qualifications and Experience

  • Planning / Scheduling
  • Risk analysis
  • Progress measurement
  • Driving compliance with global Planning process
  • Integration of Planning tools and Business Systems
  • Early identification of deviations from plans and advice on what-if scenarios

    · Relevant experience in the Oil & Gas, Defence, Heavy Engineer Industry, Manufacturing, Diving/Subsea preferred, on-shore and off-shore

    · Proficient knowledge/use of ERPs (Glovia, SAP, JD Edwards), knowledge of Primavera P6 and MS-Project is an advantage, good knowledge of excel

    · Knowledge/experience of lean principles and continuous improvement preferred

     

  • Versatile influencer capable of engaging and building long term collaborative internal and external relationships
  • Degree (Business Administration/Finance/Engineering) would be advantageous but not essential
  • APM or PMI Certification is an advantage
  • Specific training courses related to Project Management, Planning and relevant tools
