About the Role

Operational Planning Coordinator
Full-Time, Permanent
North West England with some office presence

The Role:
Join our Energy Services as an Operational Planning Coordinator, where you’ll support the Operational Planning Manager to keep projects and operations running seamlessly. You’ll be at the heart of optimising resources, managing day-to-day changes, and ensuring cost-effective solutions. From overseeing the competency matrix to identifying training opportunities and coordinating third-party labour, this is your chance to make a real impact on workforce planning and operational success.

This role can be based anywhere in the North West England and will require occasional office presence. Our office is based in Bamber Bridge, Preston.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimise the master resource plan to meet project and operational needs.
  • Monitor and respond to daily resource changes, delivering cost-effective solutions.
  • Align resource planning with project and operations teams.
  • Forecast requirements and adjust plans in collaboration with the Operational Planning Manager.
  • Maintain the competency matrix, identify skill gaps, and recommend training.
  • Source and coordinate external contractors and third-party labour.
  • Keep accurate records of resource usage, performance, and availability.
  • Drive process improvements and digital planning initiatives.
  • Support strategic workforce planning and operational forecasting.
What we're looking for: 
 
Essential
  • Extensive experience in resource planning, workforce scheduling, or operational coordination (preferably in renewables, engineering, or infrastructure).
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain accuracy in fast-paced environments.
  • Skilled in interpreting data and delivering actionable solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficient in planning tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Excel, Power BI, Power Automate).
  • Experience managing competency matrices and resource databases.
Desirable:
  • Planning certifications (e.g., PPC™, PSP, PMI-SP, CIPD Strategic Workforce Planning)
  • Experience in process improvement and digital transformation initiatives
  • Commercial and financial awareness
  • Background in offshore wind or infrastructure sectors
