The Role:
JFD are seeking an experienced Technician / Fitter with strong mechanical expertise and proven capability working with precision, pressure‑based or safety‑critical equipment.
You will join a skilled and supportive team of Technicians where your contribution directly impacts the safety and performance of equipment relied upon for critical operations. Based at our Caringbah facility, this is a hands‑on role focused on the maintenance, repair and testing of hyperbaric chambers and integrated life‑support systems.
What you’ll be doing:
- Servicing, repairing and testing hyperbaric chambers and integrated life‑support systems.
- Inspecting, assembling and maintaining pressure‑related components, valves and pipelines.
- Conducting hydrostatic and pneumatic testing in line with engineering and safety requirements.
- Interpreting and following technical drawings, service instructions and documented procedures.
What we’re looking for:
- Mechanical trade qualified or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience servicing / maintaining breathing apparatus – commercial or military diving equipment (preferred).
- Ability to work effectively within a team structure and follow management instruction.
- Computer literate – intermediate user level in MS Office suite.
- Good written and verbal communications skills.
- Excellent time management with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Full driving licence.
- Excellent attention to detail.
