About the Role

The Role:

The Finance Director will play a pivotal role within the Scantech AS and James Fisher Norway Senior Leadership Team, directing a high-performing finance team of four based in Norway and providing strategic oversight across the business. With a holistic view of ScanTech AS’s financial position, the role combines sound financial expertise with data-driven insight to inform choices that strengthen performance and aid long-term growth. The Finance Director will be responsible for budget management, forecasting, financial analysis and risk assessment, while partnering closely with the wider organisation to enable our growth strategy across Norway, Canada and emerging markets such as Malaysia and Indonesia.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Formulate and manage financial strategy linked to short and long-term strategy planning.
  • Analyse financial performance against agreed KPI’s.
  • Prepare financial reports including but not limited to Management Accounts, Statutory Accounts etc.
  • Oversee budget planning and forecasting.
  • Manage audits, compliance and tax preparations.
  • Aid the Senior Management Team (SLT) with financial analysis and risk mitigation.
  • Manage Norwegian finance and accounting team.
  • Conduct internal financial reviews.
  • Oversee cost control in EPCIC projects.

    What we’re looking for:

  • Masters degree or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience including reporting to Norwegian GAAP & IFRS.
  • Experience with data analysis and financial forecasting, knowledge of relevant Norwegian laws.
  • Experienced in financial planning, managing budgets and spends, using accounting & finance tools, audit and compliance.
  • Logical, organised, detail focused, have a strategic mindset, able to communicate well with all stakeholders and to mentor the finance team.
  • Fluent in both Norwegian and English.
