About the Role

Electrical Technician  
Onsite, Permanent
Vaxholm, Sweden

The Role: 

An experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Technician responsible for the assembly, manufacture, maintenance and testing of high-quality products within a production workshop environment. Committed to ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards and delivering reliable results to demanding deadlines, they take ownership of tasks from start to finish and consistently strive for excellence. With a methodical approach, strong problem-solving skills and a focus on continuous improvement, they contribute effectively as part of a collaborative team. Experience in marine electronics, commercial or leisure vessels, or related industries such as subsea, aviation, rail or automotive is advantageous, though not essential.

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Assemble, install and test electrical subassemblies, cabling and systems in line with technical specifications, quality standards and project timelines.
  • Carry out electrical builds including junction boxes, motor controllers, cabling, crimping, soldering and prototype assemblies.
  • Conduct Factory, Harbour and Sea Acceptance Testing, troubleshooting faults and ensuring products perform to specification.
  • Support installation, routing and commissioning of electrical and navigation systems on production, customer and development platforms.
  • Maintain high standards of quality assurance through inspection, testing, certification and completion of deviation reports.
  • Manage workload effectively to meet project schedules and customer requirements, taking ownership of tasks through to completion.
  • Ensure tools, equipment and work areas are maintained in a safe, organised and efficient manner.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability and a proactive approach to new challenges and responsibilities.
 What we’re looking for: 
  • Experience working in technically complex, quality-driven and safety-critical environments.
  • Proven ability to assemble prototype circuit boards and carry out precision electrical work to a high standard.
  • Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, documentation and written work instructions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Swedish and English, with the ability to work effectively within a team and manage competing priorities.
  • Methodical and detail-oriented, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Competent user of standard computer applications and systems.
  • Flexible and willing to travel to local and international sites as required.
 Nice to have:
  • Experience in soldering and cable assembly to recognised industry standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620 or equivalent certifications desirable).
  • Relevant electrical accreditation (e.g. AL, BB1 and BB2) and experience working with electrical systems and equipment.
  • Knowledge of navigation sensors and navigation systems, including configuration, commissioning and acceptance testing.
  • Experience with prototype modifications and machining techniques, including milling and turning, would be advantageous.
