About the Role

Head of Sales – Europe & Africa
Permanent position
Oldmeldrum, Aberdeen

The Role:
To promote James Fisher products and services focussing on existing and potential customers within the Europe & Africa region. You will be responsible for managing the regional sales & business development team and supporting the sales pipelines effectively, along with maximising our conversion rates across all product lines.

Key Duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for setting regional sales targets and performance KPIs and driving the team to meet or exceed these targets.
  • Ensure conversion rate of bids into contracts of more than 20%.
  • Work with functional leads and group strategy to ensure Energy Services is aligned to group strategy and commercial functional requirements.
  • Oversee all contract negotiations to ensure our best commercial/legal position with customers.
  • Create an effective alliance with the proposals and tendering team to deliver submissions of the highest calibre to drive high win rates within region.
  • Close collaboration with the business analysts to evaluate market trends and insights, conduct competitor analyse & growth opportunities that will help James Fisher to position within Europe & Africa at the forefront of maximising the energy transition.
  • Develop and implement regional sales and key account strategies to increase market share and achieve revenue targets.
  • Manage a team of sales & business development professionals, providing leadership, guidance, and motivation to help them perform at their optimum level.
  • Monitor sales performance metrics and KPIs to track progress towards targets and conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to sales team members.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, stakeholders and strategic partners.
  • Adhere to the energy division sales & tendering process.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to senior management, including Group monthly reports.
  • Engage with marketing and product development, to ensure alignment and drive business objectives and sales initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and incorporate them into the regional sales strategy.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
  • Participate when required in energy services strategy planning and investment committee approval meetings.
  • Ensure sales team preparedness and facilitate the monthly regional sales calls.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

What we’re looking for:
You will need strong sales knowledge with the ability to identify customer needs.
Self-motivated and charismatic, you will need flexibility and adaptability to manage multiple ongoing projects.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills along with confidence and proficiency with presentation delivery.
The ability to communicate and carry out best practices at all levels nationally and internationally.
You will need to be personally energetic, dynamic, positive, and enthusiastic and possess the ability to think laterally and act through reasoned decision making.
Challenge conventional thinking in the pursuit of commercial excellence and deal with queries from management and customers alike.

Key skills, knowledge and experience: 
Experience as a manager in a commercial department.
Proficient in working with computers and software such as Microsoft office, CRM system, PowerPoint presentations
