The Role:
As a Stores and Logistics Operator, you will play a key role in supporting the efficient management of materials, equipment and facilities, ensuring assets are accurately received, stored, controlled and distributed to support operational and project requirements. Working within the Supply Chain team, you will carry out a range of warehouse, logistics and inventory activities, maintaining accurate records and ensuring the timely availability of equipment and critical supplies.
You will work closely with the Supply Chain Manager and Stores Leading Hand (West), supporting day to day operations as well as mobilisation and de-mobilisation activities for SERS assets. The role also provides the opportunity to support operational exercises, emergency call outs and specialist logistics activities, making it an exciting position for someone who enjoys a varied and hands on working environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Accurately pick, pack and prepare customer, work and transfer orders, ensuring deliveries are completed safely and within agreed timescales.
- Receive, inspect and process inbound materials, verifying quantity, quality and compliance with purchase orders, while ensuring correct labelling and storage.
- Coordinate dispatch activities, including internal and external deliveries, supplier collections and general logistics support.
- Maintain accurate stock records and storage locations, supporting stock counts, reconciliations and the investigation of inventory discrepancies.
- Operate warehouse and lifting equipment, including forklifts, cranes, pallet trucks and company vehicles (where authorised), ensuring equipment is used safely and maintained appropriately.
- Support mobilisation and logistics activities as required, working closely with the Supply Chain Manager and Stores Leading Hand.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, security and compliance across the warehouse, yard and surrounding operational areas.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience using a warehouse/inventory management system for receipt and dispatch of inventory.
- Current Australian Drivers Licence.
- Forklift Licence.
- Sound verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate well with others and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Ability to follow and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously.
- Experience with dangerous goods packaging would be desirable.
- Experience with domestic and overseas exports desirable.
