The Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Technician to support the assembly, testing, commissioning, maintenance and servicing of our rental equipment and systems. Working closely with engineers, project teams, workshop personnel and field service colleagues, you will play a key role in delivering safe, efficient and high-quality project outcomes. The successful candidate will hold a recognised Electrical Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification, have strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, and be comfortable working across both workshop based activities and field service assignments. Offshore certification would be advantageous and may be required depending on operational needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on professional who enjoys a varied role in a dynamic and team focused environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Perform electrical assembly, installation, servicing and maintenance of equipment and systems in accordance with company procedures.
- Carry out electrical wiring, testing, fault finding, troubleshooting and commissioning activities.
- Support workshop projects through construction, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), commissioning and mobilisation phases.
- Upgrade, repair and modify equipment in line with technical specifications and project requirements.
- Accurately record and report completed work within maintenance and project management systems.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical standards, customer specifications and company procedures.
- Undertake equipment certification activities in accordance with internal and customer requirements where required.
- Provide operational support through occasional travel to onshore and offshore projects, both within the UK and internationally.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policies and operational procedures.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and actively contribute to a positive safety culture.
- Support the achievement of company Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) objectives and maintain familiarity with HSE systems and processes.
- Carry out all work in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, industry standards and company instructions.
- Ensure work is performed safely and does not pose a risk to people, the environment or company assets.
- Report non-conformances and submit improvement suggestions through the appropriate channels.
What we’re looking for:
- Recognised Electrical Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in electrical fault finding, troubleshooting and testing is desirable.
- Solution-focused approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Quality-driven mindset with a strong commitment to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSE/Q) standards.
- Proficient in written and spoken English; additional language skills would be advantageous.
- Able to work independently, manage priorities effectively and take ownership of tasks.
- Comfortable working as part of multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to support both workshop and field-based activities when required.
