About the Role
Join our innovative team at JFD Sweden as an Electronics Design Engineer, where you'll design and support cutting-edge electronic systems. Your role will involve everything from creating new products to upgrading existing equipment for our clients, managing projects from concept to finished and tested product, and selecting components for our advanced systems. Role Responsibilities
- Work daily with CAD programs for electrical design.
- Handle serial communication protocols (CAN/network/NMEA) and electrical drive systems.
- Work with navigation systems and sensors.
- Collaborate with system suppliers and manufacturers.
- Create and manage technical documentation and ILS (support, maintenance, life cycle management).
- Plan and perform workshop tests and prototype builds.
- Assist with installation, testing, commissioning, service, and repairs of electronic systems onboard delivered crafts.
- Understand product development, problem-solving, and solid engineering principles.
- Create and check engineering documentation (manufacturing drawings, specifications, cable lists, BOM, wiring diagrams, assembly instructions, test procedures, certification, reports, manuals, ILS documentation).
- Liaise with and monitor electronic suppliers, production methods, and quality.
- Source suitable components and materials, create part numbers and bill of materials, and conduct factory acceptance tests.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Relevant engineering degree in electronics or mechatronics.
- In-depth knowledge of the latest engineering design and standards.
- Strong engineering skills with a focus on manufacturability.
- Proficiency in CAD programs for electrical design.
- Experience in creating and maintaining product documentation, records, and calculations.
- Practical and logical approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines and specifications.
- Adaptable and willing to go the extra mile to ensure quality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Swedish and English.
- Effective team player who can manage own timescales and follow management instructions.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Passionate about product development and experienced in working within project teams.
- The successful candidate will be a Swedish citizen deemed eligible for Swedish security clearance
