The Role

We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to deliver innovative engineering solutions that support both existing and future Scan-Tech AS products across our sales and rental fleet, including EPC projects. This role involves everything from new product development to providing technical support for operational equipment.

You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt to evolving project scopes, and take ownership of tasks—ensuring high-quality results are delivered on time and within budget. Principle Accountabilities

  • Assess technical queries and provide engineering design to new products and support existing product range.
  • Consult with internal Scan-Tech AS departments such as sales, procurement, and production to ensure the best technical solution is provided in all instances.
  • Sourcing suitable components and materials when required and creation of part numbers and bill of materials.
  • Creation and checking of engineering documentation such as manufacturing drawings, specifications, proposals, assembly instructions, test procedures, certification, and reports.
  • Ensuring engineering solutions are provided on time and on budget.
  • Site visits to client assets and suppliers as and when required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrate experience in a similar role.
  • Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Skilled in generating design calculations.
  • Be able to work with DFA (Design for Assembly) and DFM (Design for Manufacturing).
  • Manufacture of prototype components and take design from concept to validation.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing techniques.
  • Good knowledge of gas and fluid systems.
  • Knowledge of design standards and industry guidelines would be advantageous.
  • Experience performing FEA structural analysis using appropriate software, 3D modelling (Solid Works/PDM/Inventor/ Volt or similar) would be advantageous.
  • Product design experience would be advantageous.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management system for generating and storage of engineering packages would be advantageous.
  • Any relevant diving qualifications would be advantageous.
