The Role:
We we be looking for Mechanical Engineers to take concepts from initial design through to detailed drawings, bills of materials, and documentation. You will create 3D models and CAD images using SolidWorks to support engineering and wider business needs, ensuring compliance with the latest draughting and engineering standards.
The ideal candidate is a certified SolidWorks user with a methodical approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing requirements. Experience with PDM Pro, subsea or offshore projects, and familiarity with marine or defence standards such as LR and DNV is advantageous but not essential. You should be proactive, willing to take ownership, and focused on delivering high-quality outputs to tight deadlines.
We’re looking for someone with strong communication skills in Swedish and English, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. You should be organized, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality, cost-efficient solutions on time and within budget.
What you’ll be doing:
- Good understanding of product development and problem solving.
- Good understanding of solid engineering principles and adherence to company standards and processes and compliance to internal and external standards & regulations.
- Assess technical queries and provide engineering design to new products and support existing product range.
- Liaise with internal JFD departments such as sales, procurement, and production to ensure the best technical solution is provided in all instances.
- Sourcing suitable components and materials when required and creation of part numbers and bill of materials.
- Creation and checking of engineering documentation such as manufacturing drawings, specifications, proposals, assembly instructions, test procedures, certification and reports.
- Ensuring engineering solutions are provided on time and on budget.
- Site visits to other JFD offices, client assets and suppliers as and when required.

What we’re looking for:
- Skilled in generating design calculations.
- Be able to work with DFA (Design for Assembly) and DFM (Design for Manufacturing).
- Manufacture of prototype components and take design from concept to validation.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing techniques.
- Good knowledge of gas and fluid systems.
- Knowledge of design standards and industry guidelines such as IMCA.
- Experience working to marine, defence standards and class society rules (mainly LR and DNV).
- Product design experience would be advantageous.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management system for generating and storage of engineering packages
- Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
