The Role:
This role is responsible for delivering all supply chain and procurement activity for JFO, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of supplier goods and work packages. The Buyer will manage procurement on behalf of the business, applying best practice in line with divisional procurement processes and governance. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to organise and prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines. You will be a confident and effective negotiator, with the versatility and influencing skills required to build and maintain long-term, collaborative relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
What you’ll be doing:
- Perform all procurement activities surrounding the delivery of supplier goods and work packages, including RFQs, detailed purchase orders incorporating scope of supply and deliverables.
- Provide operational support to the supply chain team and support departments including Operations, Projects and Engineering.
- Consult with vendors, subcontractors and OEM’s to ensure supplied goods are compliant, fit for purpose and meet businesses requirements.
- Liaising with suppliers on outstanding orders, material related issues and late deliveries whilst ensuring all changes and variations are captured and the impact evaluated and proposing alternative/corrective solutions.
- Work closely with and report to surrounding departments in support of business needs.
- New supplier evaluations - identify key strengths & weaknesses versus business requirements.
- Communicate with stores to review stock levels globally in determination of new purchase quantities
- Critical in delivering supply chain savings to annual KPI targets.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in a supply chain or procurement role.
- Experience in dealing with complex fast-paced cross-functional projects in an engineering, offshore services or related industry.
- Strong commercial, sourcing & contract negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of strategic procurement techniques and processes.
- Experience in using ERP systems.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Excel and full Microsoft Office suite.
