The Role:
The Senior Diving & Hyperbaric Engineer leads the engineering support function for JFD's diving and hyperbaric business, ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of critical systems. The role is responsible for asset management, through-life support, engineering design, technical analysis, and assurance activities, providing expert guidance within the JFD Engineering Authority framework.
What you'll be doing:
- Ensure compliance with engineering processes, standards, regulations, and procedures across Australian service and project delivery.
- Liaise with technical authorities to progress engineering changes and concessions through JFD's approval framework.
- Support bids and enquiries requiring Australian engineering input.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of Assembly, Inspection & Test Plans (AITPs), work instructions, and related documentation.
- Manage drawing and technical document revisions through engineering change control processes.
- Design new parts, assemblies, and drawings using SolidWorks, including BOMs and calculations where required.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, engineering investigations, and maintenance reviews, producing engineering reports as needed.
- Assist with project reporting, providing timely updates on performance, milestones, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders.
What we're looking for:
- Ensure engineering activities comply with JFD processes, standards, regulations, and governance requirements.
- Support technical approvals, engineering changes, and concessions in line with the Engineering Authority framework.
- Provide engineering input for bids, proposals, and project delivery across the Australian business.
- Develop and maintain Assembly, Inspection & Test Plans (AITPs), work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Manage drawing updates and technical document control through engineering change processes.
- Design and develop new parts, assemblies, and drawings using SolidWorks, including associated calculations and BOMs.
- Support quality assurance and engineering investigations, producing technical reports and recommendations.
- Prepare and deliver project reports, providing clear updates on progress, risks, milestones, and outcomes to stakeholders.
