Bookkeeper/Office Coordinator  
Beresfield, New South Wales 
Full-time, Permanent

The Role:
The Bookkeeper & Office Coordinator plays an integral role at Cowan Manufacturing, taking ownership of all transactional finance activities, financial reporting, compliance, and the end-to-end processing of weekly payroll. Beyond finance, this position is at the heart of the business, partnering closely with the General Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the office through the coordination of key administrative and operational activities.
 
What you'll be doing:
  • Manage all transactional finance activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general accounting processes.
  • Process weekly payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with Awards, EBAs, and legislative requirements, while responding to payroll queries.
  • Prepare accurate financial reports and data in line with JF Group reporting deadlines.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations, month-end journals, and support month-end, half-year, and year-end reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with financial obligations, including BAS, Payroll Tax, GST, Superannuation, and internal finance policies and controls.
  • Manage customer invoicing and cash collection activities to support healthy cash flow.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and payroll data, working closely with HR and supporting audit requirements.
  • Coordinate day-to-day office administration, including timesheet and job costing data entry, office supplies, equipment management, and general office operations.
What we're looking for:
  • Proven experience in bookkeeping, payroll processing, and transactional finance.
  • Strong accounting knowledge, including reconciliations, reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in job costing/accounting is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Strong customer service mindset and confidence dealing with employees, customers, and external partners.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with strong administrative capabilities.
  • Professional, approachable, and trustworthy, with the ability to handle confidential information and work both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
