The Role:

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Stores Supervisor to lead and oversee our stores and warehousing operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate and efficient management of materials, inventory, Defence assets and customer-owned equipment, while maintaining the highest standards of operational performance, inventory integrity and customer service.

As a key member of the logistics team, you will provide day to day leadership to Stores personnel, driving operational readiness through effective inventory control, material availability and warehouse performance. Working closely with Product Lines, Purchasing and Logistics colleagues, you will play a vital role in supporting programme delivery, customer commitments and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a dynamic leadership position that combines team supervision with active involvement in daily stores and warehouse activities, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment and is passionate about delivering excellence.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead and coordinate daily stores operations, ensuring the safe, accurate and efficient receipt, storage, handling, picking, packing and dispatch of materials, inventory and Defence assets in line with business requirements and procedures.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and development of Stores personnel, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety and continuous improvement.
• Maintain inventory integrity through effective stock control processes, including cycle counts, stocktakes, discrepancy resolution and accurate ERP system management.
• Ensure warehouse facilities, equipment, storage locations and inventory are maintained in a safe, secure and organised manner, supporting operational efficiency, compliance and asset protection.
• Collaborate closely with Product Lines, Purchasing, Project Teams and the Logistics Coordinator to ensure material availability, operational readiness and successful customer and project delivery outcomes.
• Monitor stores performance, identify opportunities for improvement and implement initiatives that enhance inventory accuracy, warehouse efficiency and service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, security obligations, health, safety and environmental requirements, as well as Defence-related regulations, supporting audits and corrective actions as required.

• Demonstrated experience in warehouse, stores, logistics or inventory management roles within Defence, manufacturing, engineering or similarly regulated environments.
• Previous experience leading, mentoring or supervising operational personnel.
• Experience using ERP or warehouse management systems for inventory control and transaction processing.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles, warehouse operations and material handling processes.
• Well-developed communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Current Forklift Licence and Class C Driver's Licence.
