The Role:

We are seeking a proactive Logistics Coordinator to manage the safe, compliant and efficient movement of materials, equipment and Defence assets across JFD Australia. Working closely with Product Lines, Stores, Procurement, freight providers and customers, you will coordinate domestic and international logistics activities, ensuring operational and programme requirements are met.

Operating within a Defence environment, you will maintain compliance with security, customs, export control and transport regulations while driving continuous improvement in logistics performance, service delivery and operational efficiency. What you’ll be doing:

• Coordinate and oversee domestic and international logistics activities, ensuring the safe, compliant and timely movement of materials, equipment and customer assets in support of operational and project requirements.
• Act as the primary point of contact for logistics operations, liaising with freight forwarders, transport providers, suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders to deliver effective logistics outcomes.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring freight movements align with project schedules, customer requirements and business priorities.
• Ensure compliance with transport, customs, export control, Dangerous Goods, Defence security and company requirements, maintaining accurate logistics documentation, shipment records and audit-ready compliance reporting.
• Monitor logistics performance, freight costs and service provider effectiveness, identifying risks and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, service delivery and cost performance.
• Provide logistics expertise and support to project teams and stakeholders, collaborating with Stores, Procurement and Product Lines to optimise material flow, support operational readiness and achieve business objectives.

• Experience in logistics, freight coordination, supply chain or operational support roles, ideally within Defence, engineering, manufacturing or other highly regulated environments.
• Sound understanding of domestic and international freight operations, including shipment planning, transport coordination, customs processes and logistics documentation requirements.
• Experience using ERP, inventory management or similar business systems, with the ability to maintain accurate records, reporting and data integrity.
• Knowledge of import/export controls, Dangerous Goods regulations and compliance requirements within a regulated operating environment.
• Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate activities across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively engage with suppliers, freight providers, customers and internal teams to deliver successful business outcomes.

• Demonstrated experience in warehouse, stores, logistics or inventory management roles within Defence, manufacturing, engineering or similarly regulated environments.
• Previous experience leading, mentoring or supervising operational personnel.
• Experience using ERP or warehouse management systems for inventory control and transaction processing.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles, warehouse operations and material handling processes.
• Well-developed communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Current Forklift Licence and Class C Driver's Licence.
