Workshop Technical Coordinator
Oldmeldrum, Aberdeen

The Company:

The Role:
Responsible for ensuring that all servicing, maintenance, repairs and rebuilding of equipment owned or managed by the company is carried out in a safe, efficient and economical manner in full accordance with company procedures.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Repairs and maintenance to JFO plant and customer equipment are to be carried out including diagnosis of problems, repairs and testing.
  • Have a high degree of technical proficiency in their job role.
  • Responsible for overseeing workshop team within area.
  • All items of equipment leaving the workshop are fit for operational purpose, right first-time approach to delivery.
  • Routine, scheduled, ad-hoc and breakdown, maintenance repairs to be carried out correctly and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean workshop and tidy personal work area and assist with general cleaning duties in a workshop environment.
  • Human Resources - Encourage and support industrious, harmonious team-oriented work groups.
  • Identify training requirements for all workshop staff and assist carrying out annual appraisals.
  • Coach and train staff, including apprentices, trainees and casuals, to develop work skills and increase efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate up to date records, i.e. time sheets, job Cards, etc. carried out by team in area of responsibility.
  • Equipment/materials required for service work and projects to be recorded accurately on job cards.
  • Support and encourage continuous improvement in work practices.
  • High standard of Customer Service.
  • Clear and courteous communication with staff and clients at all times.
  • Take part in an on-call rota.

Skills & Experience:
Time served or appropriate engineering qualification.
The a
bility to read and understand hydraulic schematics.
Correctly identify hydraulic fittings, thread and components.
Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines and to work in an efficient manner.
Ideally you will have familiarity with engineering, manufacturing and general arrangement drawings.
Experience with UHPP abrasive cutting systems would be an advantage.

*This role is to be based at the workshop in Oldmeldrum, Aberdeen therefore, you will need to live within a commutable distance to this location.
