The Role
We are looking for a Technical Instructor to deliver theory and hands-on training to customers on a variety of technical topics including operation and maintenance of JFD products and standard diving equipment such as helmets, regulators, rebreathers, and diver reclaim systems as well as general dive technician subjects. 
 
You will be responsible for delivering courses both online and in person, as well as will support with the development of the course materials.
 
The training will generally be conducted in-person at the NHC in Aberdeen, occasionally may be abroad at clients' sites, with the future potential of online delivery.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Professional Delivery: Develop effective methods of delivering course content and assessment to ensure transfer of knowledge and understanding.
  • Continuous Improvement: Maintain competence through access to updates of engineering product documentation, industry guidance, and legislation. Applying changes to course material to ensure transfer of industry best practices.
  • Course Development: In collaboration with internal JFD personnel, develop new courses to increase our training capability to industry.
  • Course Materials: Ensure sufficient quantities of suitable materials and supplies are available for student use to maximise the learning experience.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience as a dive technician, working offshore advantageous.
  • Experience maintaining diving equipment to manufacturer’s specifications and industry standards.
  • Strong knowledge of industry guidance such as IMCA, IOGP, etc.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience working on diving equipment such as helmets, regulators, diver reclaim systems, etc.
  • Technical training experience is advantageous but an engaging personality, strong communication skills, and confidence are more important as full training can be provided.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of small groups of technicians.
  • Communicates clearly in an engaging manner that ensures trainees understand course material.
  • Willingness to share knowledge and experience to up and coming generation of dive technicians.
