The Role
As the Training Academy Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the operations and strategic direction of the training academy. This involves managing the development, implementation, and evaluation of the training programmes to ensure they meet organisational goals and learners' needs. You will work in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high quality educational experiences and foster a culture of continuous learning and development.

The role will be based in our Bamber Bridge office in Preston and we offer hybrid working arrangements. It will also require occasional travel to various training sites and events. 
 
Role Accountabilities
  • Operational delivery of internal pathway
  • Activity co-ordination and logistics
  • Financial control and tracking
  • Delegate progress monitoring
  • Establishing scalable model
  • Establishing a standard for training and assessment material
  • Building the operational processes and procedures
  • Establishing framework for expansion
  • Support the creation of external courses
  • Ensure training is of professional standard, seeking suitable accreditations where appropriate 
  • Ensure trainers are trained to deliver to a professional level
  • Secure external funding streams for training programmes
  • Working together with the Energy Division Training and Competence Manager to ensure streamlining of preferred suppliers
  • Identifying and establishing key strategic supply chain partners, to enhance the offering of the JF Academy
  • Working closely with the engineering team to identify suitable location to support the practical elements of internal training
 Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field.
  • Experience in a similar role within a training centre
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and projects effectively.
  • Certification in training and development (e.g., CPTD, ATD) is a plus.
  • Strategic thinking and planning.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
