About the Role

Are you tired of the corporate grind and missing the joy of the creative process? Join us to design cutting-edge technology and see projects through from concept to manufacture. You’ll work closely with a dynamic team, reviewing, testing, and improving designs, ensuring no two days are the same. Your workload will vary from new product design to meet client or internal specifications, to supporting existing clients with equipment upgrades or changes in the field. You’ll develop and solve product-related problems effectively, apply solid engineering principles while adhering to company standards and regulations, and assess technical queries to design new products. Collaborate with sales, procurement, and production to ensure optimal technical solutions, source suitable components, create part numbers, and develop comprehensive documentation. Ensure timely and budget-friendly engineering solutions, with opportunities for site visits to various locations.

The successful candidate will be a Swedish citizen deemed eligible for Swedish security clearance

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and solve product-related problems effectively.
  • Apply solid engineering principles while adhering to company standards, processes, and compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Assess technical queries and design new products, as well as support the existing product range.
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as sales, procurement, and production to ensure optimal technical solutions.
  • Source suitable components and materials, and create part numbers and bills of materials.
  • Create and meticulously check engineering documentation, including manufacturing drawings, specifications, proposals, assembly instructions, test procedures, certifications, and reports.
  • Ensure engineering solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Conduct site visits to other JFD offices, client assets, and suppliers as needed.

Knowledge, Experience, Skills Required

  • Skilled CAD user, proficient in SolidWorks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Swedish.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Adaptable to changing scope or client demands.
  • Experience in generating design calculations and working with DFA/DFM.
  • Knowledgeable in manufacturing techniques, gas and fluid systems.
  • Familiar with design standards and industry guidelines (e.g., IMCA).
  • Experience with marine, defence standards, and class society rules (LR, DNV).
  • Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent industry experience, with product design and PLM system experience.
  • The successful candidate will be a Swedish citizen deemed eligible for Swedish security clearance
