The Role
Scantech AS has an exciting opportunity for a Group Controller to join the team and support with budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control across the group. This role will be reporting directly to the Finance Director and will be part of a wider finance team. As a Group Controller, you will be the Finance Director’s right hand and will assist with financial oversight, maintaining adherence to deadlines and procedures at all times.

This position involves collaboration with various internal departments and stakeholders to ensure compliance with deadlines and procedures.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide analysis against budget and forecasts.
  • Coordinate and prepare budgets, forecasts, and other financial follow-up information together with the Finance Director (FD).
  • Main responsibility for controlling tasks.
  • Cost control – against budget/project calculations/accounts receivable, etc.
  • Internal control – ensuring compliance with procedures and processes.
  • Responsibility for tax documents and annual financial statements.
  • Follow up departmental accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible for the preparation and posting of accruals and adjustment entries at period-end.
  • Assist with invoicing, ensuring transactions are posted to the correct dimensions in the accounting system.
  • Reconciliation of specific balance sheet accounts and other reconciliations as needed.
  • Ensure periodic reporting of VAT.
  • Main responsibility for follow-up with the external auditor.
  • Other ad hoc tasks assigned by the Finance Director (FD).

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally from an industrial background.
  • Relevant degree/ or equivalent with practical experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Norwegian and English.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
  • Familiarity with Visma Business can be beneficial.
