The Role
We are recruiting for a Tax Reporting and Compliance Manager to join our Group Finance team and take responsibility for the company’s tax reporting under IFRS as well as managing the outsourced tax compliance functions. This role will be crucial in ensuring that the company adheres to all tax regulations and accurately reports its financial activities.
This is a brand new opportunity in the team which will focus on continuous improvement of processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Principle Accountabilities
- Preparation of tax provisions and deferred tax calculations under IFRS.
- Ensure accurate tax disclosures in financial statements, liaising with auditors as needed.
- Analyse tax accounting positions and maintain compliance with IFRS requirements.
- Partner with finance teams to assess tax risks and optimise tax accounting processes.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors handling corporate tax, VAT/GST, and other tax filings.
- Review tax filings and payments prepared by external providers to ensure accuracy and compliance with local regulations.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and ensure timely implementation in tax reporting and compliance processes.
- Act as the primary point of contact for tax authorities and external tax advisors.
- Assisting with ad-hoc CIT, VAT and employment tax queries across the group.
- Assistance with tax team on ad-hoc project work.
- Assisting in SAO compliance cycle.
- Develop and implement controls to improve tax reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify potential tax risks and provide recommendations to mitigate exposures.
- Support tax planning initiatives and assess the tax impact of business decisions.
- Collaborate with internal finance, accounting, and legal teams on tax-related matters.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field.
- CPA, CTA, ACA, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven experience in tax reporting, tax accounting, or corporate taxation (preferably from being in Industry).
- Strong knowledge of IFRS tax accounting and reporting requirements, corporate income tax (particularly UK), and indirect taxes.
- Experience with tax compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with ERP systems and tax reporting tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage external tax service providers effectively.
